Oh man what a holiday break. Like Cone I got a lot of gaming in. A few things I can tell you is Tiger Woods 2004 is everything you want but challenging. Knights of the Old Republic still remains the best Star Wars game. And of course Rockstar still remain the best at making a game that becomes so damn repetative you never finish it.
On the community vibe, our Neverwinter Nights server has been upgraded to Hordes of the Underdark as well as some nice new Hak files. The new additions make for some great customization and some great cloaks and hoods. Stop by if you are a avid roleplayer.
This week will be a bulk of reviews at one time by me. Right now I am putting the finishing touches to a few so get your reading glasses out.
I trust you all had a wonderful Christmas break. I know I sure did. I got the hookup on some games that I seriously needed but lacked the proper funding to acquire….read “I was broke.” Nevertheless, I managed to get some high quality gaming going on while I stuffed my face with far too much sugar. It is now time to get things back on track, at least until we depart for New Years. 😉
Our boy Pretz will bring you a review of XIII when he gets done with it, but I am playing it right now. So you get my take on it first. The game is easily the best FPS I have played since I ran through the single player campaign in Halo. Its a designers dream come true with its presentation, I will save the details to Pretz. However what spurred me to write this post is the 80’s power balad that is sung by one of the bad guys while you are creeping around an enemy base. Any game that tosses in power balads is ok in my book.
It is nearing midnight here in Texas so Dots, myself, and the rest of the SB crew want to wish you a Merry Christmas. Have a very safe holiday and we will see you real soon.
Here is a quick tip for those of you about to spend your gift cards or Christmas money the day after Christmas. Purchase: XIII, Knights of the Old Republic, Crimson Skies, Rainbow Six 3, NWN: Hordes of the Underdark, Mario Kart Double Dash, or Final Fantasy X-2. Stay away from: Jedi Academy and Manhunt. Go get em tigers!
