Training

April 23, 2004

I apologize for my lack of content the latter half of the week, I have been doing computer based training for work all week long and I couldn’t break free from it.

It was confirmed by Sony yesterday that Jak 3 would be the last game in the series. It also happens to coincide with the departure of Jason Rubin, the founder of Naughty Dog. I am immensely sad, but I am glad they aren’t going to try to milk the franchise and destroy something I hold so dear. I wonder if Insomniac will be able to churn out one more R&C game using the engine or if it will be an end of an “era” of blockbuster platform games from those 2 studios.

EA announced the next Battlefield game this week. Aptly named Battlefield 2, the game is very similar to the recently announced Battlefield: Modern Combat. Yes I know that it is very similar to DC, but EA is making some very lofty promises with more than 30 vehicles and over 100 players in a single game at any given time. You can expect the game in the spring of 2005.

A new article is up; I know we have not put up much in the way of reading since we took to a more community approach. The sections are still there and we will utilize them. I would like to see more people submit reviews though, then again I plan on doing a marketing campaign here soon now that summer is in session and I have a great deal of free time. The article is fairly straight forward, check it out.
