Cone’s Thoughts on Fable

September 15, 2004

Our site was having minor issues this morning and they seem to be resolved now so let me get right into it. To even begin to think that a game could live up to 4+ years of hype and discussion would be ludicrous, but in all honesty I am very happy with Fable. I mentioned my concerns that I had been swept up into the hurricane of hype despite my best efforts to repel the situation. I am glad to report that this was not the situation and that Fable is in fact living up to my expectations.

I know that more often than not gamers are let down because of the expectations they have set for a game. I also know that there for every person out there that has a copy of Fable there are probably a handfull that either couldn’t afford it or were very cautious about pre-ordering. If either of those people is you then stay tuned because I have a fresh unopened copy of Fable that was purchased by our very own Wraith. We are going to be giving this away on the site in the next couple days. I am not sure what you will have to do to win it, but I will let you know just as soon as I figure it out. Pardon me, I have some work to do so this day goes by very fast so I can get home and play some more Fable.

Fable

September 14, 2004

The game I have been waiting for is in my xbox and so far its impressive. For those of you that like to play dress up in RPGs you will have a blast getting the right beard/haircut combo, or some nice ink on your body. Its fun, that is the bottom line, the game itself is large, beautiful, and a joy to run around in. More info will come soon as I know the crew will drop thier take on the main page as they play it too.

Dibs on review.

*edit* I defer my dibs to Cone who of had this thing pre ordered since 2002 I think. But if he gives it back to me I would be happy to come up with a review for the site.

Take care of ya

Why we pimp our EB so much? Because they take care of you, right now as we speak Man U is fighting traffic with a shipment of Fable to get it to the store. Not for us, but for you guys. Thats right people, they are not just our crew, they are yours. Needless to say forgive the upcoming dust on the site you know exactly what we will be doing, playing Fable.

I know a ton of you on Live and otherwise have been having a load of problems playing Burnout 3 online. Eurogamer is carrying an article that the servers were set to be upgraded at 1AM PDT this morning. I hope that fixes many of the problems that were run into because I would hate to see this game suffer because of a retarded EA blunder.

In case you were wondering, I am leaving work to pick up the family and go pick up Fable. You won’t hear from me until tomorrow morning when I arrive at work. I trust the rest of you will be Fabling (is that even a word?) as well.

Day of Gold!!

September 14, 2004

What up peeps!! Pretz here to give you a quick update on the following games that have gone gold. The new RTS Rome: Total War went gold, Pickle has been talking about this game since the demo was released. A new chapter in the Def Jam series, Fight for New York went gold today for you fighting gurus. And for you golf fans, Tiger Woods ’05 was added on the list of going gold. In shipping news, games that were shipped today, Shellshock Nam ’67 and Gungrave: Overdose. Expect those two titles to be in stores tomorrow.

Me personally, I am anticipating the release of Star Wars: Battlefront. To be quite honest, this game has been haunting my dreams since I heard about it. I am huge fan of the Battlefield series, and I have always been a huge fan of Star Wars since I was born. About this time next week, you can catch me online playing as an Imperial stormtrooper or a Republic jet trooper. This has been on top of my list since day one along with Halo 2, so I will keep you posted on the details.
