So one week later and several hundred bucks down Dodad, Draconian, Sniperseye, Ryno, Yours Trully, and a few others now have paintball guns and all the cool toys. Last weekend we spent in the thick of things at a ranch and at a great paintball field here in San Antonio. How does this relate to gaming? Well I am about to tell you. We started running Rainbow Six (the PC game not that horrific Xbox version) mission types, or have some more in mind for the future. Good inspiration for the weekend warrior.

The story of Halo 2 being leaked in French this morning was a big deal. I can’t say I am suprised though. Doom 3, Half Life 2, and now Halo have all been leaked or stolen. I think it kind of ruins the fun and anticipation of waiting for that next blockbuster game. Would you rather see Episode 3 a week early in 640×480 on your computer in horrible quality or wait for it in the theatre? Ok, so some of you have no patience. At any rate, it happened and now we get to hear all about how much people liked a leaked french version of the game. Whatever, I am waiting till the 9th.
While I was looking for the full story, I ran across a new Live headset that Logitech is putting out that is wireless. I know a lot of people were geeked up to get the new Halo 2 one, but the Logitech one is where it is at. It will retail for a wallet busting $80 and have 2 months of Live free. It appears that being fully wireless is a costly thing.
Let me first start with Donkey Konga this morning since it has been out about 2 weeks now. Dots and I were probably the biggest skeptics around about making the DK franchise into a rhythm based game with a custom bongo drum controller. It just sounded like the franchise was going to get raped and die. Rest assured that we spent no less than about 3 hours pounding away on our drums in an effort to become masters of the drum. Needless to say, it is awesome. I won’t say anything else or I will be stealing Dots’ thunder.
On to Bloodrayne 2… I am struggling to find words that define the awesome factor of this game. The first one had a lot of good things going for it, but a subpar game engine really hampered the enjoyment you could have with that game. The sequel is sporting a completely reworked engine and some parts have a very Prince of Persia feel to them. If you even remotely liked the first one then I am here to tell you that BloodRayne 2 is where it is at. Again I don’t want to steal my own thunder but you can chop off limbs. I think I kicked a guy last night and his hands, forearms, thighs, and torso all went flying in different directions. Did I mention this game has more blood and gore in it than any other game I have ever played in my life?
Bloodrayne 2 shipped yesterday so it should be in retail stores this morning. I loved the original and was glad to hear that they reworked the entire game because it needed some help. Hopefully this time around it will be a real winner. Now I just have to finish the first one…
Now that we have come to the home stretch for the release of Halo 2 I wanted to get the word out about where we will be the night of release. Many of the stores have planned midnight openings to celebrate the release of the game and our EB is no exception. We will be at the EB in Huebner Oaks at midnight for the release. I know many of you are going to be anxious to get home and play the game so sticking around afterwards will probably not be something many of you do, but we will be on hand giving away copies of Halo 2. We have a handfull of them on order and some lucky people will walk away with a copy. Most of them are LE copies, but a few are vanilla copies of Halo 2.
Since I know most of you do not live in San Antonio, we are not giving all the copies away at the store. We are going to be giving away copies on the site as well. We will announce all the details and keep you informed on what great things we have planned.
