Last night was amazing. I cant thank enough EB Games Huebner Oaks District Manager and forumer Turtle for hooking us up. So a million props to him for allowing us to have a great relationship with his stores. Props of course to one of our hardcore crew folk, good good friend AND General Manager of our SB HQ, The Wraith. We thank you for your awesome support and congratulate your store on its bad ass night.
We will get some pics and hopefully some media up soon. Thanks to everyone that was out there and we will see you on Xbox Live tonight! Another shout out to Dominoes for hooking the people out there with some grindage.
Apparently the $19.99 pricetag of the ESPN Sports games this year was affecting sales of EAs flagship sports titles enough to warrant some aggressive tactics. Gamespot is reporting that prices on Madden 2005, NHL 2005, and NBA Live 2005 are now $29.95 with NCAA Football 2005 dropping to $39.95.
This is definitely a good thing if any of these games are on a Christmas list of a loved one for this year.
Even the morning after what I would say was one of the more memorable things I have done in recent years, it is hard to believe that it finally happened. We have been waiting for Halo 2 for long enough and the wait is finally over. I am also pretty sure that many many people across the country have come down with an acute case of Halo-itis and will need to miss the next few days of work to recover.
We have tons of photos that we are going to put together with a brief write-up on the event. You can look for that by the end of the week. I want to thank everyone for coming out because we had a blast. Domino’s hooked us up with some pizza and we had prizes out the wazoo to give away. I got my copy of the game about 1:30am which isn’t a bad turnaround for doing 300 or so transactions.
Given that I have a day job I had about enough time to pop the game in, dual wield some guns and take out some elites and then it was off to dreamland for me. I will give you my thoughts on it when I get a chance to really sit down and play it. We are going to do a kind of team review of the game and hopefully that will be online in a few days as well.
Thanks to everyone at EB Games Huebner for allowing us to setup shop and promote the site and thanks to Fox News and the Express News for interviewing us. If you want to catch the segment on Fox News then tune in tonight at 9pm.
I must say that we here at Snackbar love you guys. The community here at Snackbar is the what keeps us going. The Halo 2 Midnight Madness at EB Games was awesome. We met som really cool people, gave away tons of stuff, fed a ton of people, and lastly we all got our copies of Halo 2. We were very happy to see hundreds of people at the Halo 2 event last night. Congratulations to all of you folks who won the copies of Halo 2 and other cool schwag.
We also want to thank The Wraith, Turtle, Jaxa, Man U, Wampa, Copius, Drac, and I know I’m forgetting some people so I’m sorry if I forgot you but we love you. You guys did a hell of a job yesterday pulling the event off without a problem. You guys are AWESOME! There was so much going on yesterday that it’s hard to describe in this post. So hopefully I can put something together with all the footage and interviews I got on tape. Stay tuned for that. But for now we can post some pics here soon. Again I just want to say to the entire Snackbar community that all of you guys freaking RULE!
So we are only hours away from one of the biggest events in gaming and boy is it going to rock. Final preparations have been underway all day for us and with it being 5pm I am heading home to get everything assembled and get up to EB to have us some party time. Just a final reminder that it would be awesome if everyone that is able to make it came out. We love meeting new people, assuming you aren’t crazy or something. Just kidding, we love the crazy people too.
