Monday Tidbits…

April 4, 2005

Lego Star Wars is off the hook. I got a chance to play that bad boy at EB for a bit, and what I saw, I liked. Expect the crew to be all over it (not that we don’t already geek out all things Star Wars). You know when a string of GOOD Star Wars games hit the shelves it has us very happy.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is the game of the moment, and if you only play it for the Co Op its totally worth it. The online experience is hell of better now that you can take on missions with a buddy. By the way, Pretz and I are the most sloppy spies ever. If there is an alarm we set it off. Review will be up this week. Check out gamer tag and add us to your friends list if you want some Vs action.

April Fools

April 1, 2005

I am not big on April Fools Day jokes for a couple of reasons. The biggest reason would probably be that I suck at coming up with clever pranks. That pretty much means that unless I start planning now, you won’t see a prank next year either. Such is life.

In other news, I can now say that I have had the pleasure of holding a PSP and it is a fantastic looking device in all regards. Sony did a bang up job with the styling on that bad boy, but price continues to be a deal breaker for me and many others out there. Don’t feel bad if you are still hesitant to buy a PSP and a game over something like maybe an Xbox and 3 games.

In the “Does Anyone Actually Care?” Department analysts are kind of split on the success of the PSP launch. Some say it was fantastic and others were just not impressed. I guess we will just have to see how it pans out.

Still on the topic of portable gaming, Nintendo launched the Graphite Black and Pure White DS units in Japan last week and the result was an increase in sales of more than two fold. Regardless of how great the PSP is I have a feeling that Nintendo will outsell it with special edition DS units. Turqouise Blue and Candy Pink are slated for release in Japan on April 21st.
