What would you like?

March 14, 2006

Since this site is driven by the community and for the community, that means that all the aspects fall under that category. The podcast is one of them. The staff and myself have been hard at work trying to put together a podcast that everyone will enjoy and it will also be relevant to gamers. My vision for the podcast is simply that it be one of the top entertaining gaming podcast online. In order to achieve that goal, we must listen to what the people want. This is a time where you can sign off and let us know what you would like hear on our podcast.

We want to know what we can improve on, what additions would compliment the podcast. What topics and subjects you would like to hear on the cast. How we can get the community involved more. We also want to know if we need to get rid of certain aspects of the current format. This is your time to let it all hang out, quite hoenstly you are the reason the podcast has done good so far. So lets make it better, we need your help. The ultimate question is, How can the Snackbar Games Podcast stand out above the rest?

Maybe. Or it could be something completely new. It seems that Bioware has created a new development studio to work solely on a new MMO. There are no details on whether it’ll be based on a current franchise or if it will be something new. Still, after falling in love with Neverwinter Nights in recent history, and knowing how many people are still enjoying the game (just check out our NWN community forums!), I would think that this could actually give World of Warcraft a run for its money.

Whether it be an old franchise or new, I am quite excited. Hehehe!

Sorry… I’m a little giddy. My apologies.

Rumors going around are saying that Sony is planning on having a downloadable content service like the Revolution that will allow people to play PS1 and PS2 games on the PS3.

Ok, for starters, if you haven’t played all the PS1 games you are interested in at this point, there’s something wrong with you. You had TWO opportunities. I even picked up a couple of PS1 games I never got around to playing when I got my PS2. Still… the last thing I would do is play a PS1 game on a $500 machine.

Now, let’s not forget that the PS3 is expected to be backwards compatible anyhow. Ebay people! Finding these discs of these old games is not that hard. Unless they are shrink-wrapped, most of these games are affordable just to get used copies.

And seriously… those will be some huge freaking downloads! I suppose we can store those downloads on our internal hard drive. Oh wait… we’re not going to have one.

If this is even remotely true, then I truly believe that Sony has completely lost it. I mean… completely.

This one is not officially confirmed, so take it with a grain of salt, but according to Club Skill, Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be coming out for all next generation consoles, including the Revolution.

Of course, for BG&E fans and Nintendo fans, this is great news. Now if only we could get confirmation of it before we go off getting too excited.

Best of Platinum Hits? What is that? Well, it looks like Microsoft it trying to extend the shelf life of some excellent games even further by doing a “Best of Platinum Hits” where all the selected titles retail at $9.99. While most of these titles can already be found in the bargain bin at this price, that’s still a great deal! Just 2-3 years ago we were paying $50 a piece for these games. Now they’re $10!

People wonder why I’m a budget gamer…
