New Snackbar Staff Member

September 14, 2006

In the forums there has been a little buzz about some potentially big news that I have to announce and since we pride ourselves on being a little more down to earth and not quite so “man in the box” I wanted to share that news with you guys.

This post is to announce that we have a new member that will be joining us here at Snackbar Games in the not too distant future. If my math is right he/she should be joining us right about the time of E3 next year. You see, last week Dots and I found out that we expecting our second child and since these kids will no doubt be handed over the reigns of this community at some point down the line I figured I’d share that news with everyone.

As you were.

Region Free Wii Games

September 14, 2006

Nintendo is saying that first party Wii games will be region free. This is good news for those of you that want to do a little importing without having to hack up your new console or import a console as well.

Wii Rumors become Official

September 14, 2006

I don’t like posting rumors so I waited until the leaked info about the Wii launch was confirmed. In case you missed the leak, here are the details. The Wii will launch Nov. 19 here in the US for $249.99. The package comes with one wireless Wii Remote controller, one Nunchuk controller and a copy of Wii Sports which has 5 different sports games on it. I have a picture of the Wii retail packaging, but it is covered in watermarks. I am looking for a better image.

The Japanese launch of the Wii will be Dec. 2nd. Nintendo also stated that there would be over 30 Wii titles out by the end of the year. Is everyone ready for some Nunchuk action???

I’ll admit, I snagged this from Kotaku, but I wanted to direct link to it since it was so darn cool.

LEGO Star Wars 2

September 13, 2006

Yesterday was the release date for LEGO Star Wars 2 and from what I hear, it is selling like hotcakes. I personally went home and got re-familiarized with the original game upon realizing that I hadn’t actually finished it. Yesterday also marked the re-release of the original Star Wars Trilogy on DVD, kinda.

With all this Star Wars talk in the air, JoeHonkie and I were discussing how sweet it would be to see a new X-Wing game headed to the Xbox 360. Could you imagine the gaming experience that would provide? Multiplayer X-Wing over Live with headsets and all? I get giddy just thinking about it. Alas I digress.
