Earlier you may recall that we mentioned the possibility of a return to Sega’s Saturn classic NiGHTS into Dreams, a rumor spurred by not one but two different magazine teasers for their forthcoming April issues.
It seemed unlikely that two different publications would team up for the same April Fool’s gag, but now Swedish magazine Game Reactor has posted a teaser shot of its April issue as well, confirming the sequel for all naysayers in the audience. The magazine mentions that this is indeed going to be a new game, but does not make mention of a platform. However, given the context of earlier reports, a Wii version, if not an exclusive, seems likely.
Thanks to everyone who sent this one our way!

Previously, we mentioned about the possibility of a new, suped-up black Xbox 360. Recently, a few pictures were taken with a mobile phone and leaked online, which you can view below.
The current unconfirmed rumors surrounding this new 360 is as follows. These Xbox 360s will be known as the “Elites” and will be limited to approximately 200,000 units. After these are gone, another Elite series will be released, this time in white and will essentially replace the current Premium console. These are only rumors, so treat them as such.
Rumor also has it that Microsoft is slated to release an official statement this week regarding this new 360.
After a rather stressful morning, I found myself open to anything that could cheer me up. That ‘something’ came care of Konami and a rather large box filled with all manner of goodies promoting the recently shipped Lost in Blue 2 for the Nintendo DS. Konami has always had a knack for weird and wonderful swag, from Silent Hill 4: The Room’s gelatinous eyeball submerged in red jelly, to the overly sexed wall calendar packed in with the original Rumble Roses’ press kit.
Today’s offerings were perhaps more tame, but no less fun. Besides the customary video game t-shirt, the package contained a feux leather Lost in Blue 2 branded journal, a stylus made to look like a piece of wood, and yes, even a ‘Worst Case Scenerio’ survival guide (which promises not only to teach me how to survive a shark attack, but also how to ‘take a blow to the head’). Useful!
The coup de grA
After months of unofficial speculation TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive have officially announced that the new game in the LEGO franchise will be none other than the Dark Knight himself. As owners of the DC Comics property, Warner Bros has secured the North American publisher for the upcoming Lego Batman game.
According to a statement announcing the title, Lego Batman follows a story that begins with some of Batman’s foes escaping from Arkham Asylum and creating mayhem throughout Gotham City. Tracking criminals, including The Joker and The Penguin, players will utilize Batman’s gadgets as well as build and operate vehicles in one or two player cooperative gameplay.
No word yet on when we can expect the new game. We have an interview with Jonathan Smith, the development director of Traveller’s Tales, in the works concerning the upcoming game.
The word on the street is that Nintendo’s five month old Wii is still a rare find outside of eBay and back room dealings. However, music television network VH1 has announced that it plans to give away one of the consoles to a lucky winner, along with a very healthy cache of 10,000 Wii Points for online shopping. And heck, they are even throwing in a Nintendo t-shirt and cap, too.
To enter, register on VH1’s forums and leave a comment telling your favorite anecdote about playing old school 80s games and how those sorts of games shaped your life. You have to write between 40 and 100 words or you’ll be disqualified. Make it funny, weird, sad, whatever. But definitely make it old school. My tale would probably be about staying up for 32 hours playing Phantasy Star, or how I would scrawl NES passwords on the outside of my Trapper Keeper – a practice that had me confronted by a pair of teachers concerned that they were Satanic scribblings. Joy!
Start thinking today. The contest ends on Friday, March 30. Winners will be announced next Monday morning.
