Aegis Wing, a game largely created by three interns at Xbox Live Arcade will be released this Wednesday for free. Aegis Wing was originally conceived by three interns over the course of a summer and is a side scrolling sci-fi action shooter. It combines space combat with fantastic visuals and a rich soundtrack.

The setting is 2105, and humanity is headed for Europa after abandoning the Earth. The Araxia, a powerful alien race, have other plans. The Aegis Wing, an experimental star fighter, is born from stolen Araxian Technology and is humanity’s last hope for survival.

Aegis Wing supports up to 4 players locally or over Xbox Live. It was originally created by three students – Scott Brodie, Danny Dyer and Matt Monson – during their summer internship as they worked in tandem with Carbonated Games, the developer behind UNO.

Aegis Wing will be available on Wednesday May 16th at 2am PDT and will be free. It will only be available for a limited time so grab it early.

For the weekly additions to the Wii Shop Channel this week, Nintendo announced that everyone’s favorite pellet eating mascot would be joining the ranks. The NES version of Pac-Man will be available for 500 Wii Points.

Joining Pac-Man, Ninja Gaiden (NES) and Ninja Spirit (TG16) will be available for 500 Wii Points and 600 Wii Points respectively. Ninja Gaiden on the NES is one of the all time great games and is sure to be a hit. Having never owned a TG16, I have never played Ninja Spirit, but this version packs in the original Arcade Mode as well as the PC-Engine Mode. The difference being that the PC-Engine Mode has a life gauge.

On Wednesday May 16th, Soltrio Solitaire will be headed to the Xbox Live Arcade in the usual XLA Wednesday fashion. Soltrio Solitaire is a solitaire fan’s dream with 18 compelling solitaire games packed into a nice little package.

Soltrio also packs in a new Voyage Adventure mode that has players travel around a map and complete different solitaire games in an effort to unlock custom card designs.

Soltrio has 12 Achievements worth 200 Gamerscore points. As mentioned, Soltrio Solitaire will be available on May 16th for 800 MS points in all regions except Korea. Below are some screenshots that were released today.

The Crackdown DLC that was announced earlier this week should now be available to all Xbox Live users, unless you live in Japan, Germany, or Portugal. Go grab it now.

2K released some new screenshots of the upcoming Silver Surfer game. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is set for a June 15th release, which coincides with the theatrical release of the Fox/Marvel movie sequel of the same name.

Rise of the Silver Surfer is based on content from the comic book series as well as the movie and has exclusive plot elements that complement the film, something that is becoming very common in game/movie crossovers. Game features include the over-the-top super powers of the main foursome as well as a new fusion attack system that combines forces with one or more teammates to execute massive team attacks. Planned unlockables include alternative costumes and comic covers, something a comic book collector would really geek out about.

Rise of the Silver Surfer is slated for release on the PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DS.
