Last week we told you about the strange package that arrived from Nintendo with a fake Frosty inside. The enclosed paper said more info would be available today, and like clockwork an email just dropped from Nintendo’s PR firm.

It would appear that Wendy’s is launching a new Frosty, the Vanilla Frosty Float. As part of this launch, Wendy’s is giving away 800 Wii video game systems. Each Vanilla Frosty Float cup comes with a special code that you enter at www.FrostyFloat.com to win Wii prizes. Prizes include one of 800 Wii systems, 800 Wii games, or 800 Wii points cards. It’s pretty simple, keep throwing back those VFFs until you win a Wii or die from sugar shock.

To round out the full promotional aspect I figured I’d throw out that the VFF can be made with Coca-Cola, Barq’s Root Beer, or any other sode. The 20oz frosty beverage will set you back $1.99, which rocks if you happen to win a Wii.

So there you have it, get to Wendy’s post haste.

The official Riddick homepage has been updated with a teaser that reads:

Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Coming to Next Gen Consoles This Fall

The Riddick games were very solid so this should prove to be quite awesome.

StarCraft 2 was finally announced today, with a few screen shots available over at IGN. While millions of gamers impatiently wait, whine, weep, and pray for StarCraft 2 to zerg rush its way to store shelves, I’ll sit here pondering why it took so long for Blizzard to finally admit that StarCraft 2 was even in their corporate heads’ heads; after all, StarCraft 2 has been on the tips of gamers’ tongues for a full decade now.

After viewing the screenshots at IGN and reading their play-by-play of the South Korean event unveiling it, pretty much everything I expected was confirmed: from how it currently looks, StarCraft 2 is very much like the original StarCraft, with some polished graphics, but similar units and abilities and the same exact gameplay. Blizzard has also lifted the cap off the game’s official website, offering more media for this hotly anticipated, yet largely unsurprising upcoming release.

While Warcraft and Warcraft II didn’t differ very much, it didn’t take ten years for Warcraft II to come out after Warcraft became popular. Until Blizzard proves that they aren’t just regurgitating most of the previous game into a new product for their slavering fans, the StarCraft 2 announcement and accompanying media gets a big, hearty helping of “meh” from me.

Microsoft Game Studios, Ensemble Studios, and Big Huge Games unveiled the first details about the second expansion pack to the blockbuster Age of Empires III, Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties.

This expansion pack will introduce gamers to Asian civilizations and introduce a host of new gameplay features. With a new developer at the helm this is sure to provide a unique spin to a classic favorite.

New Loki Screens

May 18, 2007

Focus Home Interactive released 8 new screenshots today that show a few new characters for their upcoming hack ‘n slash RPG, Loki; a powerful Egyptian Sorcerer, an Aztec Shaman, and a Greek Fighter. Previous screens only showed the Norse Warrior, whose updated model is also present in this new batch of screens.

Loki is under development by Cyanide Studio and is a journey of four great mythologies where gamers take-on the role of one of the 4 heroes. Cyanide has created hundreds of creatures for the game so you will have to fight your way past a myriad of enemies including skeletons, giant spiders, and even centaurs.

Levels are culminated with boss battles that include foes such as Medusa, Fenrir the wolf, or Fafnir the dragon. Bosses have unique fighting styles so finding the weak points of each boss is the key to success.

Loki also includes over 500 unique objects that gamers will be able to collect or exchange including items like Thor’s Hammer or Achilles’ Armor.

Loki is slated to be released for the PC. For more information on the game, you can check the official website at http://www.loki-game.com
