Nintendo’s updates to the Wii Shop Channel this week include a single WiiWare title and 3 new Virtual Console titles. This week’s WiiWare title is by Hudson Entertainment and is titled Onslaught. Onslaught is a futuristic FPS that has you playing the role of a soldier on the Elite Interstellar Strike Force. Onslaught is priced at 1000 Wii Points and is carrying a T rating for the violence and blood.

This week’s VC additions include a trio of C64 titles including: The Last Ninja, INTERNATIONAL KARATE, and Pitstop II. Keep reading for the full descriptions. READ MORE

Harmonix and MTV Games announced today that the 8 remaning tracks from The Cars debut album would be available as a part of the downloadable catalog for the Wii. Keep reading for the full track listing and pricing information. READ MORE

Atari announced the official release dates for the next Riddick game. Gamers in North America can pick up the game on April 7th, while European audiences will get it on April 24th. Playable demos will also be released to the Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in March.

Retro is back, no matter how you define it.  There are new games made to look retro, retro games made to look new, new games you’re supposed to think are retro, games that look new but feel retro, games that are supposed to be sequels to retro games that didn’t exist, and even new games that are supposed to be the aforementioned nonexistent retro games, thereby nullifying the premise of that last category.
