Sony started off their press conference by addressing the PlayStation Network outage, first by apologizing, then saying they’ll show us in the next 90 minutes why it’s worth coming back to if you’ve left. And they did a good job of convincing, with a slew of new titles and PSN exclusives announced. READ MORE

It’s always an interesting time at Ubisoft’s E3 media event. Last year was especially iconic: Shaun White rambled off-prompter for minutes, a Vitality Sensor-like pulse game had a presenter taking silent deep breaths on stage, Michael Jackson’s backup dancers did their thing with no actual gameplay details and everything was topped by random laser tag mid-show.

This year was a bit more traditional (despite the insufferably overeager host, “Mr. Caffeine”), but just like last year, there were also some interesting announcements. READ MORE

In Monday’s second big conference, EA announced some new projects, showed off features of upcoming games and rolled out the carpet for a few marquee titles.

Among EA’s announcements this year was the much-anticipated new multiplatform project from Insomniac Games. Overstrike, a near-future team-based action shooter, is the first from the company to appear on a non-Sony console. READ MORE
