For the past 10 years, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 remained one of the most popular games among the fighting game community, even through a resurgence of the fighting game genre that included Soul Calibur IV, Street Fighter IV, BlazBlue and Tekken 6. Earlier this year, fans got the refresh they wanted with the release of Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which sported a cast of 38 characters, most of them new blood for the franchise. READ MORE

Everything about Telltale’s Jurassic Park feels like an homage to the original film. The characters would have worked in the movie, the situations genuinely feel like examples of how a day in Jurassic Park plays out, and the story, despite having to carefully step around the story of the film, is engrossing and would have made a better sequel than JP2 did. There are a few problems, but my love for the source material and Telltale’s great treatment of it was more than enough to overcome them. READ MORE

Mario Kart 7 is, in a very obvious way, a direct followup to Mario Kart Wii. It borrows the art style, the track aesthetic, the jump tricks and the Mario Kart Channel, and doesn’t do much to stand out from it. It’s so obvious that I feel a bit silly even articulating to you what this game is.
