Here at Snackbar Games, we’re as interested in news as anyone else, and this week we’ve got more news of the Mass Effect 3 demo.

TOP STORY: Mass Effect 3 demo will upgrade your Silver account

EA has already announced a plethora of bonuses for playing the Mass Effect 3 demo, mostly for those interested in the Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning. However, this week they announced a new bonus that every Xbox Live member should be interested in, as anyone who downloads the demo will have their account upgraded to Gold status until March 6. We suppose this is to allow anyone who wants to the ability to fully play the multiplayer aspects of the demo.

This week Sony released videos detailing a new way to play ball in MLB 12: The Show, both at the plate and in the field. Offering both a new way to play and the chance of more realistic games and results, Sony is hoping that these new modes will attract new players to the game. And for those who hate change, don’t worry. The trailers show that all the old methods of playing are still intact, just one menu option away. I’m a big fan of tower defense. Whether towers are upgradeable (Defense Grid: The Awakening), the player participates in the battles (Sanctum, Orcs Must Die), or the game can be played for 15 minutes on a break at work (too many to mention thanks to Internet game sites), I love the genre. Unstoppable Gorg is no exception. The presentation is good, the spin on the typical formula is fun and there’s no shortage of unit types to play with. READ MORE

Disney Universe is a quirky multiplayer game that places you in the role of a guest to a new attraction, featuring fully-recreated worlds based on Disney movies (including Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lion King and Aladdin). While on the introductory tour, VIC the tour guide is infected by an evil virus named Hex. Hex quickly takes control of all of the worlds and makes them evil, and even traps other guests in each of the worlds. It’s up to you and your friends to save the trapped guests and escape. READ MORE
