I like some unique games, and while Microsoft’s XBLA service used to scratch that itch for me, lately I’ve been finding great games on the PC instead. Break Blocks, aside from having a terrible name, is another little gem that probably would never have been published without digital distribution on the PC. READ MORE

A new game is released to market with a great soundtrack, superb writing and localization, a great visual aesthetic and sharp graphics and garners a slew of sterling reviews. It proceeds to fail miserably in sales, dooming this promising series to an early and undeserved death. It’s a tale that gamers are all too familiar with. Too many notable games have fallen into this hole and never recovered. For a while it looked as if EarthBound was going to avoid this fate as, despite its lackluster sales for the Super Nintendo in 1995, a sequel was shortly in development for Nintendo’s new 3D system, the Nintendo 64.  READ MORE

After months of anticipation, the third game in the Mass Effect trilogy is finally here. BioWare has successfully crafted this original universe in two widely-popular games, so there is a lot riding on Mass Effect 3 to deliver a satisfying conclusion to the science fiction trilogy. Due to the nature of the Mass Effect story and because of how much your choices matter, expectations are high.
