PlayStation Minis, like Xbox Live Indie Games, have been a way for smaller developers to get their games out to the masses at an affordable price. There is no denying that the multiplayer space has been chock full of cooperative multiplayer in recent years. Between Gears of War, Halo, Borderlands and now Mass Effect, teaming up with friends to save the world is, if not taking over, giving the traditional lone-wolf style of gameplay a run for its money. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is no different. It’s designed from step one to be played in a group. What Slant Six forgot was that step one needs to be fun. Aping what has worked for others is no guarantee of success, and ORC is not a successful team-based shooter. READ MORE

March 30th through April 1st marked the worldwide, multi-location game jam What Would Molydeux?, wherein participants design and make games based on the crazy tweets and musings of PeterMolydeux, a Twitterer that suggests radical game design ideas in a ramped-up style of impersonating Peter Molyneux.

The general consensus I’m seeing is that if you actually went to the jam and got to make something, it was fun. The games themselves are a lot to slog through. By my count, there are 242 different games listed in the 291-item list. In reverse order, I intend to play all of those games and give my impressions. READ MORE

You can tell when a golfer just starts getting tired. It’s usually sometime around the middle of the final day of a tournament, when those birdies keep slipping to pars and the drives just aren’t quite as long as they have been. They’re pros, and they compensate well, but there’s just not that spring in their step that made things fun and exciting.

Avernum has a pretty long history among PC RPG fans, having been remade twice thus far since its initial release as Exile: Escape from the Pit in 1995. Generally, these releases have been timed well, and allow a new player to enter into the series without dealing with dated graphics or awkward installation procedures on account of compatibility issues.
