If there’s anything the Vita needs right now, it’s games that take full advantage of the system’s features. It also just needs games in general, but the ones that fully use the capabilities of the hardware are especially welcome. Dokuro is one of those games, blending together 2D platforming with some intriguing, if flawed, puzzle mechanics that use some of the Vita’s features in interesting ways. READ MORE

Borderlands 2 is a great game, and its structure lends itself to DLC extremely well. The original game saw four pieces of downloadable content, and while Gearbox only got to a 50-50 track record there, it should surprise nobody that DLC was a part of the Borderlands 2 plan before the game even hit store shelves (as it was possible to preorder the DLC season pass along with the base game).
After the Mechromancer character, Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty is the first bit of DLC available. Instead of a new character to play as, Scarlett is a full-fledged side adventure. Any character level 15 or higher can fast travel to Oasis and start looking for the fabled lost treasure. READ MORE
Hotseat matches, long a popular option in PC games for purely practical reasons, can be a lot of fun. The problem, usually, is that they tend to get boring, especially with more people. Most of the time, you’re just sitting around, and no one likes being the third guy in line while someone takes a turn in Civilization.

Pokémon Black and White were a breath of fresh air for a series that, while not exactly stagnant, was best known for incremental adjustments over dramatic changes. Restricting players to only the 150-ish brand new critters until they became Champion was like throwing even fifteen-year veteran trainers back to Red and Blue for the first time: everything was new, and nothing was certain. The comparison of Black and White to Red and Blue is fitting, as there are many parallels between the newest iterations, Black Version 2 and White Version 2, and the follow-ups to the originals, Gold and Silver.
