Roberto Fraga’s Dragon Delta, first published in 2000, was nominated for several awards that season due to its simple-yet-engaging cross-the-river gameplay for up to six players. Similarly to RoboRally, each player programs five actions each turn, but whether or not those actions will play out as intended remains to be seen. Dragon Delta has been out of print for a while now, but Asmodee recently reissued it under the new name of River Dragons, which is the version I’ll discuss here, although with one exception the two editions are essentially identical. Considering how much I’ve read in my life and how much I love science fiction, you might be surprised to hear it took me until my junior year of college to finally read Ender’s Game. Of course, once I did, I was instantly enamored with the fictional world it contained. As an avid gamer, though, I was intensely interested in both the learning, adaptive game Ender played on his desk and the Battle Room. Apparently, Chair Entertainment was as well, because soon after word came that a movie based on Ender’s Game was in the works, it announced plans to release a game based on that very part of the book. It’s official: Sony’s new system is the PlayStation 4, and it’s packed with social features and streaming capabilities. The system sports 8 gigabytes of RAM, as well as a motion-sensing and touchpad-sporting controller, and will arrive later this year. Lots more, including some new game announcements, after the break. The Guilty Gear series has always been the blueprint for many “anime-style” fighting games. It set the standard on how games with this certain kind of technical, combo-heavy fighting scheme should look and feel. Arc System Works has gotten this formula down, releasing successful games like BlazBlue and Persona 4 Arena with the same kind of charm. However, many still consider the Guilty Gear series to be one of the best. What Accent Core Plus does is finally give those PS2s a rest, and allow fans of the series to finally play it on a modern console. READ MORE
