It’s hard to believe that one of the most influential Street Fighter games was released twelve years ago back in 1999. With a fighting game like Third Strike, it’s really hard to tell that even that much time has past. Almost a decade ago, this game was one of the best fighters available out there. Introducing a parrying system that was simple, yet challenging, and EX Moves that brought a whole new dimension to how you attack, this game set the bar for how several fighting games that succeeded it would play.

Making its arcade debut in 1983, Taito’s Elevator Action found several releases and graphical upgrades on both the Game Boy Color and Advance, as well as on Sega Saturn. The game found new life in its recent release on the Playstation Network by Square Enix: Elevator Action Deluxe.

You’re a spy sent to retrieve documents from a building. However, this task won’t be easy. These buildings seem to have a love for an excessive amount of elevators and escalators, which makes your life even harder since the enemies want to stop you from leaving with their documents. This week, we take a look at rhythm title Jukebeat and the iOS port of Final Fantasy Tactics.

Jukebeat (Universal): Jukebeat is just one of Konami’s recent music games to hit the market in the last few years. Originally called Jubeat in Japan, their 16-panel touch game finally makes its way over to the US in the form of an iPad/iPod Touch title. The premise of the game is simple enough, and it’s best described as musical whack-a-mole. Tap the panels in time with the music and earn a score. Earning over 700,000 points will earn you a passing grade. Anything lower results in failure. Split into three difficulty categories and ratings ranging from 1-10, you’ll definitely find songs you like and will be able to ease yourself into the game. READ MORE

Boulder Dash was first released on the on Atari 8-bit computers in 1984, and later released on other systems such as the Commodore 64 and ColecoVision, as well as being ported to the NES. The Commodore 64 version also made its way to the Virtual Console in 2008 and 2009 for Europe and North America respectively. Now, though, this classic computer game finally gets an update with new graphics and everything on Xbox Live Arcade. READ MORE

It’s been almost twelve years since we saw an entry in the Little Tail Bronx series. With CyberConnect2’s original Tail Concerto being lost in the mix of .hack// and Naruto Ultimate Ninja games over time, a spiritual successor to the game finally came out last October in Japan: Solatorobo: Red the Hunter. It looked like the game may not see an American release, but XSEED stepped in and picked up the title.
