Emulating another genre within a game has been met with varying levels of success. Probably the most well-known of an MMO-within-a-game structure is the .hack series. That franchise spanned seven games and, for the most part, did its best to emulate the MMO structure inside a “regular” RPG of sorts. One gives you a reason to listen to new music, and the other keeps your head in check and reinforces pattern recognition. Another year, another update to the Street Fighter IV series. For Capcom, this isn’t something terribly unusual. Before the advent of online patches, we had four different versions of Street Fighter II and three versions of Street Fighter III, and Ultra Street Fighter IV marks the fifth version of this latest entry. Tomodachi Life is a weird game to describe. Think of it as a mix of Tamagotchi, The Sims and Animal Crossing. As the island’s proprietor, you create Miis, move them into an apartment complex and ultimately become their problem-solver. They live their daily lives, meeting fellow residents on the island that you make at your discretion, become friends, fall in love, get married and, if you’re lucky, have kids as well. READ MORE
