Dark rooms, scary thunder storms, long spooky hallways, rats that chase after you, ghosts…no I’m not talking about Fatal Frame. I am talking about Luigi’s Mansion. Not to mention vacuums with the power to suck up ghosts, a little mad scientist guy, and, oh yeah, Toad is back too.

Luigi’s Mansion was one of the launch titles for the Gamecube. You may then ask yourself, why Dots, if the game is so old, are you reviewing it now? Well, I just played it and it is new to me. I am only recently a Gamecube owner. Paired with the fact that there is really nothing new out there that I want to play or review. SO, with that out of the way, I give you the Luigi’s Mansion Review!!!

I will start this review with a brief history about my relationship with Luigi. It all started with the original Mario Bros. game. I always played Mario and made my younger sister play second player, thus, she was always Luigi. She would get mad because I A

I want to start this review out stating that I am fully aware that there are many people out there who enjoy this game. I, however, am not one of them. I can’t quite put my finger on what I don’t like about it – oh wait; yes I can. Ei ei poo.

Wonderful Story Mode…

I started out playing Super Monkey Ball 2 in story mode. This involves four monkeys and a bad guy in a blimp – BADboon. The premise of the game is that you are this little monkey that speaks Japanese and you are encased in this clear ball and must roll through Labyrinth-like courses to reach a goal, while collecting bananas that BADboon has stolen from you. The levels start out really simple, basically rolling yourself across a bridge into the goal line. They, of course get progressively harder and you have to hop across mogul-like bumps and hurdle your monkey across moving conveyor belts. Each level consists of 10 courses that are arranged to look like pool balls in a cue. How cute. It took me about ten minutes to beat three levels. It is relatively easy to control your monkey ball, no difficult combinations, just simple moving of the joy stick. Oh yeah, I forgot the story. BADboon wants MeeMee, the girl monkey in the pink dress (how original) to marry him and she says A

I realize that I am doing this in reverse order, posting an article, then doing a little intro thing, but that’s just the way it works. This isn’t going to be some long and drawn out life’s story, so I best just start with the basics.

Alright, as far as gaming things go I don’t have one genre of games that I prefer. I always have to ask Cone what the hell kind of game I like and he always asks me which game I am talking about liking at the moment. As far as all time favorites I am a Donkey Kong Country (SNES) girl all the way. I still like to go back and play through that game. Plus I have Diddy’s Kong Quest and Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble. Oh yeah, then there is Donkey Kong 64. I was heartbroken to hear the Rare and Nintendo partnership is no more. This is only a problem because Donkey Kong is owned by Nintendo and you just can’t have a DK game without Rare. I am still praying for a DK on the new generation consoles…any of them. Please…

Speaking of new generation consoles, I prefer the X-Box. This is mostly because my new favorite, Halo, is on this console. I have other reasons too, but like I said, I am trying to keep this relatively short. I also really enjoyed Kingdom Hearts on the PS2. A side note about me and saying that I enjoyed/liked games. I also judge games by their A
