Even though Final Fantasy IV Advanced was released not too long ago, the game is being remade, yet again. This time, for the Nintendo DS. Much like Final Fantasy III, FFIV will recieve massive visual updates. Meanwhile, you can check the new (Japanese) teaser trailer here.

In an interview, one of Blizzard’s top guys, Rob Pardo, stated that the anticipated Starcraft 2 will not be coming out this year, and at the earliest, it will be released in 2008. He also said that he was surprised nothing was leaked from the game, up until May 19, when the game was finally unveiled in Korea.

Just two questions remain: 1) who in their right mind thought that Starcraft 2 will be out this year and 2) who in their right mind thinks it will be out before 2009? It’s Blizzard we’re dealing with after all.

Despite warnings from Microsoft, many people went ahead and modded their Xbox 360’s to play illegal copied games. Microsoft waited patiently, but their weeding session has begun. If you own a modded machine, and want to play on Live, I’m going to have to disappoint you. As soon as you log on to Live, you’ll get an error message (“Status Code: Z: 8015 – 190D”). The profile will still be usable from an unmodded machine.

You guys know what’s funny? That people are cursing Microsoft, about how could they be such jerks to rid many people the chance to play games, which they payed no money for. Oh the irony.

Crytek, the studio behind the popular Far Cry and the upcoming and highly anticipated Crysis, opened a new studio in Budapest, Hungary (the city in which this writer currently resides in). It is uncertain what game(s) the Hungarian team will be developing, but what we know now is that it will not be an FPS, and will be using the CryEngine 2.

Previously, Valve made a statement that Episode 2 for Half Life 2 will be available with Team Fortress 2 and Portal for the PC in a box set called “The Black Box”. This is no more. If you want to get these two games, then you need to either buy them off Valve’s steam program, or buy the “Orange Box” (which contains HL2, Episode 1, 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2. The release date for Ep. 2 is currently set for October.

The only upside to this change in packaging is this statement from Vavle’s Doug Lombardi:
Those who purchase the PC version of The Orange Box will get three separate Steam product codes: One for the three new games, one for HL2, and one for Episode One. This way a PC Orange Box owner can give away their Half-Life 2 or Episode One unused Steam product codes if they don’t need a copy of those games.
