Today Nintendo is holding a press conference to finally share with us the pertinent details of the 3DS’s launch and possibly more.
This post will be updated throughout the day as more information comes out.
All new information is after the break.
Nintendo has announced that the 3DS will retail for $249.99 and launch on March 27 here in the US.
As far as online and multiplayer is concerned, Nintendo is still using friend codes, but in a much more friendly manner. Each system will have a single, hardware dependent friend code rather than a different one for each game. Additionally, you’ll be able to see what games your friends are playing.
Nintendo has announced the launch lineup for the 3DS as well, with 12 games coming on launch day and an expected 30 titles out before E3.
- Pilotwings Resort
- Nintendogs + Cats
- Steeldiver
- Dead or Alive
- Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D
- Super Street Fighter IV 3D
- Madden NFL
- Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D
- Asphalt 3D
- Ridge Racer 3D
- Resident Evil: Mercenaries
- LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
News has just come out that Nintendo will also finally allow you to transfer downloaded content from one 3DS to another, and from a DSi to a 3DS. This is good news to anyone worried about losing their DSiWare or 3DS VC games when changing systems.
