Following Sony’s huge E3 conference last year, the studio had a lot to live up to. Thankfully, they delivered with some surprise reveals, including a new From Software game and LittleBigPlanet 3. Read further for that plus news about PlayStation Now and the PlayStation TV, and much more!
Bloodborne, a collaboration between From Software (the team behind Dark Souls) and Sony, was announced for a 2015 release. The long-rumored title known as Project Beast, Bloodborne is very reminiscent of the team’s previous projects. The trailer showed a dark, horror-inspired setting and the same kind of weapons you’d expect from a Dark Souls-inspired title. Not much else is known about Bloodborne at this time, but it’s currently slated for a 2015 release.
PlayStation Now will be launching its open beta to PS4 users on July 31 of this year, and will allow the streaming of PS3 games. Streaming to the Vita will be available soon. Among the open-beta titles: Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, God of War: Ascension and more.
The Vita TV was finally announced for a Western release, as a showcase for PS Now with a new name: PlayStation TV. It’ll release this fall for $99, or in a bundle with a controller, game and memory card for $139.
A lengthy gameplay demo for Batman: Arkham Knight was shown, giving us a glimpse at the Batmobile in action. The PS4 version will have exclusive content. The game is set for a 2015 release.
LittleBigPlanet 3 was revealed with very little drumroll, as the demo jumped straight into gameplay, showing off new features, like three new character variations that change the traversal mechanics. It also sports enhanced visual fidelity and a more powerful editor tool, as well as full backward compatibility with older games’ levels. It’ll release this November on PS4.
An in-engine trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was shown, revealing an older Nathan Drake and a 2015 release date. Very little is known about the game at this time.

A new indie game, Entwined, which started as a student project, was revealed at the conference. It’s focused on two bird-like creatures as they attempt to reunite. The game is out tonight for PS4, and will be a cross-buy title for PS3 and Vita as well when those versions are ready.
The first gameplay was shown for Mortal Kombat X, complete with two new characters and fights that utilize the environment even more than previous iterations. The game will be released in 2015.
Giant Squid Studio, formed by former thatgamecompany veterans, is developing the atmospheric underwater exploration game Abzu as a PS4 exclusive.
Hello Games’ new game, No Man’s Sky, is making its console debut on PS4 in 2015. It will feature a procedurally-generated world and is focused entirely on exploration and space combat.
A new Ratchet & Clank game is coming out in 2015. It’s a remake of the original Ratchet & Clank, and is a tie-in with the film adaptation of the series.
The new game from Suda 51, the mind behind Killer7 and No More Heroes, is titled Let it Die. It’s a third-person action-shooter coming exclusively to PS4 in 2015.
In a partnership with Double Fine and Disney, Sony announced Grim Fandango HD is heading to PS4 and Vita.
The next game in Deep Silver’s Dead Island series, Dead Island 2, was officially revealed with a CG trailer. Very little information was given, but expect the same type of four-player zombie fighting gameplay from the first two.
We also saw more footage from Far Cry 4 after its showcase in the Ubisoft event, showing the first gameplay and revealing PS3/PS4-specific co-op functionality for players to invite friends who don’t own the game to join.
Paradox is working on multiple PS4 exclusives, including Magicka 2, made by new dev team Pieces Interactive. Devolver Digital is also bringing five games to PlayStation platforms, including Hotline Miami 2 and Broforce, and all will launch on the systems before other consoles.
A new piece of DLC for inFamous: Second Son, titled First Light, was revealed. It stars one of the main game’s side characters, Fetch, and seems to take place before the events of the story. Best of all, you won’t need the base game to play it when it launches this summer.
The Order: 1886, the upcoming third-person shooter from Ready at Dawn for PS4, was shown off in a gameplay demonstration with a focus on werewolf combat.
Destiny was shown with a new story-focused trailer which gave a better idea of the game’s bigger picture. The beta is starting on July 17th on PS3 and PS4, with a first-look alpha launching this weekend on PS4.
A new trailer was shown for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The game is still set to be released in 2015.
Prior to the show, Alexey Pajitnov showed up to announce Tetris Ultimate for the Vita, a port of the upcoming Ubisoft version of the game. It will sport online multiplayer and unnamed other features when it releases this fall. Killzone: Shadow Fall: Intercept was also announced, add-on content focusing on 4-player co-op play.
