Hasbro Family Game Night for $40

March 18, 2009

Microsoft kicks off its “Days of Arcade” promotion today with the release of Hasbro Family Game Night. Normal XBLA games are priced at $5, $10, or $15. In order to play the four games released today (Battleship, Connect 4, Yahtzee, and Scrabble) you’ll have to cough up $40. That’s what Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (one of my favorites from last year) debuted at. As a bonus it wasn’t a game composed entirely of rolling dice or picking squares off of a grid at random.

The idea of Hasbro Family Game Night is a good one, but it should cost $10 for all four games as a pack – not $10 a piece.

Please don’t buy these. If you do you’re sending a message to Microsoft that we’re willing to pay more for games than they are worth.
