After months of unofficial speculation TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive have officially announced that the new game in the LEGO franchise will be none other than the Dark Knight himself. As owners of the DC Comics property, Warner Bros has secured the North American publisher for the upcoming [i]Lego Batman[/i] game.
According to a statement announcing the title, [i]Lego Batman[/i] follows a story that begins with some of Batman’s foes escaping from Arkham Asylum and creating mayhem throughout Gotham City. Tracking criminals, including The Joker and The Penguin, players will utilize Batman’s gadgets as well as build and operate vehicles in one or two player cooperative gameplay.
No word yet on when we can expect the new game. We have an interview with Jonathan Smith, the development director of Traveller’s Tales, in the works concerning the upcoming game.
