EA released details about the online capabilities of the upcoming Madden game. The PS2 and Xbox games will both share similar features such as reputation ratings similar to Xbox Live’s feedback system, tournaments, as well as enhanced instant messaging.
In addition to the new features you will see EA is introducing online mini-games into the sports lineup this year. The mini-games will be played head to head online and will last an average of 5 minutes instead of the 30+ for a standard game of Madden. Madden will sport a game called Rushing Attack that is essentially a rushed 5 minute game of football where the ball changes possession every 1 minute. You can also expect some cheating countermeasures to be in place when things go live (pardon the pun) in August.
