TOP STORY: Elder Scrolls Online coming in 2013

Elder Scrolls has been rumored to be the subject of Zenimax Online’s MMO-in-progress for years, though nothing concrete had ever been released, until this week. Elder Scrolls Online has been in secret development since 2007, and is scheduled for a release in 2013. While nothing about the gameplay or story specifics have been revealed, we do know that it will take place during the time when the daedric prince, Molag Bal, is attempting to destroy the world, about 1,000 years before Skyrim‘s events. It will also cover the entirety of Tamriel, including Cyrodiil, Skyrim and Morrowind, the previous provinces we’ve seen.

TOP STORY: God of War: Ascension revealed

Rumored for months, Sony finally announced the next title in the God of War franchise. Dubbed Ascension, it will be an origin story for Kratos, following him as he takes his first steps toward the events we know him for. Despite rumors of a multiplayer mode, Sony’s product page for it states it will be single-player only. It is set for an early 2013 release.

TOP STORY: Lost Planet 3 revealed

Capcom announced during its annual Captivate event that it was going back to E.D.N. once again, this time prior to the events of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. Lost Planet 3 will be a prequel to the series, taking place during the formative days of the colonization. The gameplay will focus on third-person shooting and first-person mech piloting as the other games did. And, as you would expect from it being a prequel, the environments will be strictly icy again, as E.D.N. was prior to the terraforming in Lost Planet 2. Taking the reins on this title will be Spark Unlimited, developers of Legendary and Turning Point.

TOP STORY: Kingdom Hearts 3D dropping this summer

Square Enix is obviously in no hurry to start working on Kingdom Hearts 3, but for now fans of the series can look forward to playing the next intermediary title, Dream Drop Distance. Described as the opening of the final act in the current storyline, Kingdom Hearts 3D follows Sora and Riku as they attempt to become keyblade masters. Gamers will be able to get their hands on it on July 31.

There have been many rumors about the location of the next game in the series, and recently it was revealed to be the American Revolution. From the looks of things, a number of core gameplay elements may be different than we remember.
