Namco Bandai announced today that the characters Yoda and Darth Vader, previously exclusive to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions respectively, will be added to the competitor’s consoles as downloadable content. The new characters will be made available this Thursday at a price of 400 Microsoft points on Xbox Live and $4.99 on the PSN store.
While this marketing move is hardly a surprise, it’s likely to be a lucrative one for Namco Bandai. Soul Calibur IV performed strongly, shipping over 2 million copies in its first week, and many attribute this success to the cross-promotion with the Star Wars franchise. Will fans be able to resist recreating the original trilogy showdown they never got to see?
The announcement is over on Namco Bandai’s site.
