The PlayStation Vita is a powerful piece of portable hardware! Because of that, we’ve been able to enjoy a handful of ports and updates of games that were previously only on consoles, such as Street Fighter X Tekken and Persona 4 Golden. Tecmo Koei contributed to the trend in the form of Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, which was an update of an update of an update, bringing the mid-aughties classic to a portable system for the first time and somehow managing to conjure up even more new features. Every once in a while, a game comes out over here that by all rights should never have happened, either because of the genre, the subject, the timing or the console. Generation of Chaos: Pandora’s Reflection is one of those games. As a title in a niche genre released on an obsolete, mostly-dead system, it’s not a localization you would ever expect to see. Like most games that fall into this category though, it’s fairly good, and I’m glad it arrived. READ MORE

Sly Cooper games aren’t really made anymore. As an industry, we’ve moved beyond collecting things to encourage exploration, injecting mini-games into platformers and doing everything possible to make the player feel like they’re controlling a cartoon. And it’s a shame. Games like Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time are fun, and everything else stems from that. It’s silly and easy, but the whole journey is fun. READ MORE
