Toki Tori is exactly what everybody needs sometimes: a game to relax with that isn’t insultingly easy. Toki Tori moved as quickly or as slowly as the player wanted, it was beautiful to look at, and each level presented a challenge without feeling stressful. Whenever a new Rabbids game comes out, I get excited against my better judgment. I know I should know better by now, because there hasn’t been a decent Rabbids since TV Party. I keep getting excited because, for all bad games, the Rabbids are hilarious to me. With the successor to the Wii launching without its own Wii Sports follow-up, it really makes sense for a third-party to try to fill the void with a solid-if-unspectacular motion-controlled sports compilation. Fitness games have come a long way since Wii Fit showed there was a market for them. From activity-based minigames to actual exercises with cameras for tracking movement, they’ve become a viable method of exercising, regardless of whether your goal is weight loss or maintenance. More freedom can be more fun, if you don’t take things too seriously, and while at some point in the past it dashed beyond the point of there being any challenge at all, it’s really not the reason you play.
